A kitchen is not just a home improvement – it’s an investment!

A stylish yet timeless kitchen can ultimately change the style of your home and family life forever.

·         Recent studies have found that families spend most of their time together in the kitchen, not only for cooking but for socialising too

·         The kitchen acts as a natural meeting place within the home

·         Since the 1920’s, the average family kitchen has doubled in size

A kitchen with a timeless design is truly underestimated, not only can it change the look and feel of the room but it can potentially increase the quality time a family spends together. In 2010, a study found that Brits spent significantly longer in their kitchens over their lounges. It really is much more than a space used to simply prepare and cook food. The kitchen is the room where most families spend time together without even realising it!

Ways to remodel your kitchen using technology

Close to two thirds of people cook when in their properties in order to create the feeling of home, a new study has acknowledged.

The Life at Home report put together by furniture and household specialists IKEA also found that 30 per cent of respondents from a survey of 12,000 residents based in 11 cities around the world associate a certain food with their home.

As well as delving into cooking and the home, the study also brought up some interesting points about how a property’s kitchen and dining area are both become more technologically advanced.

For example, when people ate alone, many tended to connect with family and friends through video. Good Wi-Fi was also something that 23 per cent of those surveyed favoured over having an appropriate amount of space in their abode for inviting friends over.

Tell-Tale Signs You Need to Get a New Kitchen

It probably only seems like yesterday that you were remodeling your kitchen. You remember clearly all the cabinets being pulled out and ceiling being painted. But when you look at the calendar, you realise that you last updated your kitchen over a decade ago. During the intervening years, it’s slowly fallen into a state of disrepair. And now you’re looking at a kitchen that is a shadow of its former self. The following are some tell-tale signs that you need to get a new kitchen.

The Cabinets Are Falling Apart

New kitchen cabinets are great. They’re clean, sturdy and have a mechanism that feels great when you open and close them. But over the years, they start falling apart. To begin with, it’s usually only small things. The little plastic contact between the door and the cupboard shell falls off, making the door slam. But over time, more serious problems creep in. ...

Enhance Your Lifestyle with a Brand New Bespoke Kitchen

The role of the kitchen has changed many times throughout history. In days gone by, for example, it was simply a room where meals were made, which were then distributed to the dining room for a more formal experience. Since this time, however, the kitchen has taken on a much more central role in our homes, and now seems to be not only where meals are made, but also where families gather at breakfast time to eat, where friends and family gather for conversations, and even where work and homework are done. In many ways, the kitchen has changed as our lifestyles have changed, and it is a true reflection of how we live our lives.

In a day and age where our schedules are so hectic and our personal and leisure time so precious, the kitchen has evolved to serve our best interests as a multi-functional room. Indeed, ...

How To Create an Amazing Kitchen That You Want To Spend Time In

One of the rooms in the home that we spend a lot of time in is the kitchen. So you want it to be as you like it, as much as you can. How much more inviting is it to go in a kitchen that is stylish and functional? I know it makes me want to do more cooking and baking for sure. If it is drab, dark and dirty, I just want to avoid that room! So how can we update our kitchens to make them appealing to us? Here are some of my thoughts.

Have a Deep Clean

Any room is more inviting and welcoming if it is sparkling clean. So a good place to start a kitchen update is with a deep clean. Wipe down the kitchen unit doors and drawer pulls. Think about defrosting the freezer and cleaning the oven and microwave. A deep clean is the big ...

The Silk story from Masterclass is no fiction

Roma-LightGrey3

When a kitchen calls for something a little more subtle than high gloss, yet a matt finish just won’t do, Silk from Masterclass is so much more than a simple compromise. An almost perfect to the touch painted finish that creates luxurious results, Silk offers extremely high levels of consistency, thanks to the superior manufacturing process that is typical of Masterclass Kitchens.

Achieving such a silky smooth surface the manufacturing processes requires a clinically clean environment, to prevent surface contamination which causes dust specs or ‘pimples’ beneath the top surface of the product. This is something that Masterclass takes in its stride, with beautifully smooth results.

The Silk story by Masterclass has unfolded on four new ranges, to cater for contemporary and ...
