How your Choice of Flooring Affects the Look and Feel of a Room
When it comes to creating your perfect home getting
the interior right is vital. Whilst outdoor living is becoming more popular,
the majority of us still spend most of our time indoors. Therefore, getting the
look and feel of the inside of your home right is a priority.
A big part of doing so is choosing the right type of
flooring. Your floors are a big feature of your home, so this is something that
you simply cannot afford to get wrong.
affects how big a room looks
One of the biggest impacts your choice of flooring
has on the way your room looks is that it affects how big or small a room
looks. For example, if you select narrow strips for a wooden floor, that are
less than 3 inches wide, the room will seem far smaller than it would if you
choose planks ...>> full

How to maximise the beauty of your Home with Wood Flooring
Most of us would agree that finding the beauty in our homes can be
tough. Often we find ourselves living in homes with uninspired architectural
design, and it's left to us to find the touches that can make it special and
unique. Ensuring the exterior and interior are pleasing to the eye can become a
full-time job in some properties. Sometimes we need to remodel as well as
redecorating to make an ordinary house into a beautiful home.
Choosing a flooring material depends on the room you want to redecorate. For example, a carpet would be ideal in the bedroom and living room, tiles in the bathroom and kitchen, laminate wood flooring in the hallway, dining room, kitchen etc. I love the latest trend; porcelain tiles that looks like floor boards - this way you can use tiles in the kitchen and wooden flooring in the dining / living room - ...>> full

Top tips on exterior wood care
A wide variety of cleaning agents are available for everything from maintenance washing and algae removal to strong facade cleaners which will effectively dull old paint in preparation for fresh paint coats. We recommend wetting the surface with a garden hose first to prevent cleaning agents from absorbing into exposed wood. Never use high pressure washers as they can damage the wood or shoot water into joints. A garden hose with a scrubber attachment is a great tool for facade maintenance.
Always cover windows, gutters, foundation and plants around the house before washing and painting facades. Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus is highly durable with a medium build for a translucent, satin finish that brings out the natural beauty of the grain underneath. It will preserve your timber against the damaging effects of sunlight and weathering too. Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus is a low build, solvent-based, semi-gloss woodstain, it is ideal for using on exterior softwood ...

Vinyl, Low Cost and Lovely
love the look of natural stone and ceramic tile in the bathroom, but you don't
love the cost. If you want an alternative that's easy on the budget,
low-maintenance, and comfortable underfoot, turn to vinyl. Water-resistant and
antimicrobial, vinyl is available in hundreds of colours, patterns, and
designs. It's fairly easy to install (chances are you can do it yourself) and
today's styles offer enhanced realism. It's warmer to the touch than tile, a
plus for winter mornings, and has a cushioned feel that reduces leg fatigue.
And if you knock a vase of flowers off the vanity, it probably won't break.
Most manufacturers offer unique features for stain protection, cushioning,
durability, and antimicrobial properties.
