Have you ever been on a spa day? If you have, you probably left the experience feeling that you wanted to replicate it at home. This may seem like it would be costly to do, but there are some simple additions you can make to your bathroom to give it an air of luxury. What are those things? Read on to find out!
Choose A Colour Scheme
Ok, so if you have ever been to a spa, you’ll know that all spas have a colour scheme. Usually, this is white and silver, but depending on your favourite colours, you can make your own bathroom feel like a spa by choosing any colour scheme you want.
Typically, when someone is creating a luxury bathroom, they choose a metallic colour for the taps (gold or silver) and a single colour. Think of combinations like teal and gold, silver and white, or even black and gold. Just make sure that the metallics don’t outweigh the colour you’ve chosen, or it may make the space look a bit futuristic and not the way you want.
Invest In Candles
Another thing that you need to invest in to make your bathroom feel like a spa is candles. If you have children in the home, make sure that the matches or lighters that are used to light the candles are kept somewhere safe and out of reach.
Some people adore having scented candles in their bathrooms, while others just like the light when they’re in the bath. You can even go one step further and match the colour of the candles to the surrounding scheme to make sure that it all coordinates as it needs to.
Fluffy Towels Only!
It’s a common issue with towels; you buy a brand-new, fluffy towel, and after a few washes, it can start to feel like sandpaper!
Fortunately, there are some ways to avoid this. Invest in fabric softener or add white vinegar to the wash cycle. If you can, try to dry your towels in a tumble dryer with a dryer ball to help keep them soft.
Remember, there’s nothing relaxing or gentle about drying your skin on a rough surface. It can also dry out your skin and cause rashes, which isn’t what you need when you get out of a relaxing bath.
Change Your Taps (if you can)
There has been a lot of talk in recent times about the different types of taps that you can have installed in a bathroom. If you have the budget, try to get a waterfall tap installed over your sink and in your bath. This will add to the luxury theme and will certainly help you to feel that you’re in a heated lagoon. Also, if you’re able to, try to have a waterfall shower head fitted, too, as this will keep you warm when you’re in the shower and save you time when washing.
Add More Lighting
Lighting is a key part of any luxurious spa setting, and while it can be easy to presume that you need to turn the lighting down when it comes to lighting over mirrors, try to turn it up! Adding lighting to your bathroom will add a real touch of class to the room and will also help you look your best after a bath.
