We all love to throw a party or have a great dinner party every once in a while. The difference between you and I might be the level of detail you go to or how elaborate your event is. Some people choose to have small intimate affairs. Where the detail is in the food and the good company you keep. Others choose to host more people and turn the celebration into an event or party, where every need is catered for. Or you may be somewhere in the middle. However, no matter how big or small your event, party or dinner party is, here are some of the things to think about.
Where could you hold the event?
One of the first things to consider would be where you could hold the event. You may want to have it at home. Choosing your dining area as the main setting or perhaps even enabling your guests to enjoy your garden or the outdoor areas. Or you may want to consider having the vent in an alternative location. Maybe the local village hall which will give you the beauty of space to work with, or perhaps taking things one step further and hiring a different house for the event. This could give you the perfect setting and that kitchen you have always wanted to work in to create the vent you are thinking of.
What about table decorations?
Finally you can now start to plan some of the fun stuff, and that includes things like the table decorations. This is where people can really take pride in the events they throw or dinner parties that they have. Place settings can be fun as this is where you can get a little creative and stick with the theme or colour scheme you have chosen. The centrepieces are also a real talking point and these can include flowers, lights or candles. You could also look at adding printed paper bags at each table setting with a little gift for your guests. Or even a mixture of everything. The choice is yours.
Think about the food
Food plays such a huge role in any type of event and happens to be one of the most talked about elements of the event, so you really need to take the time to figure out the type of food you want to serve. It could be that you consider something like a seasonal menu, where you pride yourself on only using locally sourced ingredients. Maybe you want to add canapés to start or little breaks between courses.
What about drinks to accompany the food?
It isn’t just about the food, it is also about the drinks that you serve to accompany the food and the whole event. It might start as a welcome drink, where you could create a signature cocktail or stick with a glass of fizz to get the night going. Then think about the meat or fish you are serving and the best types of drinks such as the colour of wine you choose to serve would go best with it.
Would you consider entertainment?
Finally, the last thing to consider would be whether you choose to have any entertainment for the evening. You may want to add some low key music in the background, a playlist you have put together, or have a singer or band to really entertain your guests. It would depend on the venue and space you have, but it could add a real unique touch to your dinner party or event.
Let’s hope it helps you throw the ultimate event.
